Artist, Lryics, Outfit 1

So the other day I was staring at my closet and started to think about what would I wear if I was going to "insert event here." So I have decided to do posts about some of the music artist I would love to see and the outfit I would wear to their concerts. I'm going to start with what I would have to say is my all time favorite musician, Emile Autumn. http://www.myspace.com/emilieautumn She has such an unique voice and creates such a haunting sounds. She also has a crazy style that I would love to wear!

One of my favorite songs is "Misery Loves Company" Here are the lovely lyrics:
It's not the time
It's not the place
I'm just another pretty face
So don't come any closer
You're not the first
You're not the last
How many more?
Don't even ask
You're one more dead composer

Do I need you?
Yes and no
Do I want you?
Maybe so
You're getting warm
Tou're getting warm
You're getting warmer oh
Did you plan this all along
Did you care if it was wrong
Who's getting warmer now
That I'm gone

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

I'm not for you
You're not for me
I'll kill you first
You wait and see
You devil undercover
You're not a prince
You're not a friend
You're just a child
And in the end
You're one more selfish lover

Do I need you?
Yes and no
Do I want you?
Maybe so
You're getting warm
You're getting warm
You're getting warmer oh
Did you plan this all along
Did you care if it was wrong
Who's getting warmer now
That I'm gone

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

You're so easy to read
But the book is boring me
You're so easy to read
But the book is boring me
You're so easy to read
But the book is boring
Boring boring boring boring
Boring boring me

Pray for me
If you want to
Pray for me
If you care
Pray for me
If you want to
Pray for me
If you dare
Pray for me
If you want to
Pray for me
If you care
Pray for me
If you want to
Pray for me you fucker
If you fucking dare

Misery loves company
And company loves more
More loves everybody else
But hell is others

This I what I would wear. Both dress and bloomers are Bodyline. Note my Hello Kitty band-aid on my right hand, I got hurt at work again! I wish that Emile would come and do a whole tour in the US. She has only come to NYC a few times. Go and listen to her music

Tea Trip!

Yesterday lovely Amy and I dressed up and went to visit the tea shop/house in NY, called Harney and Sons. It is only a little over an hour from us so we took a morning trip to get there. Because we went to enjoy tea and get new tea for our tea parties we had to dress up Lolita. I chose to go classic, one: because I haven't had many chances to wear this outfit and two: didn't want to go too "crazy" for Amy's mother. Here is a pic of me and my darling Amy. We are so close to truly being sisters!

At the tea house there is a shop, a small luncheon cafe and tasting room. After we enjoyed a delicious meal we went to the tasting room and had a great time trying all sorts of tea, from oolongs to black and green teas. It was great! When you purchase tea from Harney's every tin tells you the right amount and brewing time, so each cup of tea will be perfect.
These are the teas I bought. Organic Peppermint and Winter White Earl Gray. The peppermint leaves a wonderful tingle in your mouth and the white earl gray has an almost sweet taste to it. No need for sugar!

Visit the website, you can request a catalog and start exploring new teas. www.harney.com

Enchanted Forest Sprite

In the hours after a snow fall , while the forest is still, this is when the enchanted forest sprite emerges. She travels the forest making sure all the creatures of her domain had kept themselves safe and warm.

In the stillness she takes the chance to play and dance among the trees. She is able to enjoy the enchantment and wonder of the soft covered forest.

But soon the snow will melt and spring will come and the forest will awaken! Then the sprite wont be alone in her journeys through her magical forest.

So at the moment I'm kinda half living back at my parents while my knight is off fighting the battles. I have moved into the guest room so I don't have the ability to completely my room my own. I have found someways to give it my flare and wanted to share this with you.

On the dresser I display all my lovely jewelry on my new dress holder (x-mas gift from my friend). I also love my Ariel box from the days when I worked at the Disney store, and my little frog prince.

My collection of headbands decorate my mirror. Yeah they are mostly black and red, my favorite colors.

Pile of Gothic and Lolita Bibles are always next to my bed cause I can't stop looking at them. Also there is my Angel Sanctuary pillow.

Next to my bed is some photos of the love of my life and the talking bear he left me that says "Goodnight Kittydragon, I love you." Isn't he sweet, I wish he was here.

This is my newly organised closet. My growing Lolita collection is starting to take over.

Hope you enjoyed my little tour!

My Disney Role Model

In Lolita Charm's last post http://lolita-charm.blogspot.com/, Victoria was reponding to an article that stated being a princess is something you grow out of and that the image of a princess presented by Disney are just shells of being a young girl. Oh how not true this is. As I was growing up I had a strong kindred spirt with Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I loved her curiosity and freedom, not to metion her beatiful voice and long red hair(sometimes I dye my hair red to idolize her). I would always pretend to be her while playing in the pool or out in my forest. As a teenager I understood her need for independance. We all want the chance to explore and find out who we are. She uses another "world" as a way to discover something within herself. Now, as the princess I have become, I still look up to Ariel. I love to discover new things. Lolita is a huge part of my exploration. Through Lolita I found a way to capture my youth and become more of a girl then I ever was(I was an extreme tomboy).I always love to learn about diffrent things and explore new places. I'm constantly telling myself that I am free to be me, who ever that is today. Ariel was not afraid to put herself out there. Heck she grew legs and learned to dance! I will always fight for what I believe in. I will go and fight for the one I love no matter what sea witch wants to stop me. I am proud that I had a Disney Princess for a role model.

It's Tea Time

So everyone loves going to a great party and some of us love to throwing great parties. So why not have a Tea Party for all those tea loving Lolitas out there. Here are my tips on how to throw a fun one.
For starters give yourself lots of time to plan. You don't want to be running around trying to get everything done and ready only a week before your party. Once you got your date pick a theme. It can be simple as having a good time, to celebrating a holiday, and even basing off a story theme (yea we all want to do an Alice in Wonderland theme). Having a theme can help you decided what you want for food and decorations you are going to use.
Now that you've got a theme start planing your menu. This is a tea party so finger foods are always good. Mini cupcakes or muffins a simple and fun. Also have a fun cake that is decorated to your theme is always a crowd pleaser. Other simple food can be fresh fruit cut in cute shapes and even covered in chocolate. Another thing I like to do is sugar covered nuts. It's simple and taste great. Now at most tea parties is all about the sweets, and believe all of mine have been full of sugar overload, but it's good to have something with substance. Make finger sandwiches or maybe chicken fingers. I know it doesn't sound cute but it can help keep everyone from crashing halfway through your party. Now remember this is where you are going to spend a lot of money. I have yet to have a party where I haven't spent $80-$100 in food. One way to keep cost down is to ask guest to bring something. If you do this make sure you know what people are bringing so you don't have six plates of cookies.
Now every good group of friends can keep a party going with just conversation but every good party planner knows you should have some form of activity just in case this isn't so.

At my last party we made chocolates and Valentines. Other things can be simple crafts. We are Lolitas , we love to be crafty. Pull out ribbon and make some flowers. You can even hot glue then to hair clips and headbands(get these at walmart for only a few bucks) to make cute hair pieces. If it's a nice summer party why not go outside to play some croquet(great for your Alice party) or bad-mitten.
Finally for your last touch is to set a lovely table. Pull out your cute tea sets or you mother's nice china. Place them onto a cute table cloth. If you don't have any of this yet you can always hit the goodwill store. There a lots of mis-match tea cups and saucers you can find there. It's would be cute if everyone had a different tea cup. You can even find other things for your table as well, like vases. Every tea party should have fresh flowers. It's brings out the princess in all of us when we see sweet smelling flowers. Another great idea for your place settings is to have something each one your guest can take home. Make personal place setting cards, our a single rose. They will remember the party longer if they have that memento to take home with them. This past party I found make your own candy necklaces kits. Everyone loved them!

Now that your guest are here there is one last thing to remember. Be a good host! Make sure that everyone has tea in their cup and food that they want. Make sure that everyone is included in the fun. If you are a good host no one will be afraid to ask for something when they need it and as long as you assist they will be so happy.
Now you have some things to help with planing that tea party you always wanted. The last thing I leave you with is HAVE FUN, Be Creative, and Take Lots of Pictures!

All photos are from my last party

Explain Yourself.. Well a Little

COLORS

What colors can be found in your Lolita closet?
Lots of black and white. Some red, pink, and light blue.

What is your favorite color with Lolita?
I wear a lot of black but I tend to love bright color dresses

What is your least favorite color in Lolita?
Yellow. I don't know it makes me go blah.

Which uncommon color do you want to try out?
I want more blues and I like to try a full pink dress

DESIGN
Are you more a Onepiece, Jumperskirt or a Skirt person?
Mostly one-piece. I don't have enough pieces to make full outfits, so a dress is simple.

Which cut do you like the best?
Square necklines.

Print or no Print?
I like both. Depends on the dress and the print. Plus I don't shop many name brands so there isn't many cute off brand prints

How does a dress/skirt have to look like that it will be a "must have" item for you?
Well I'm just starting to get more Lolita clothes so something diffrent that I don't have yet. I want to try everything I can

STYLES
What is your favourite style in Lolita?
I wear a lot of classic and Gothic lolita but I love sweet lolitas

Which style do you wear regularly?
Classis or Gothic

Which style you want to try out?
Sweet. I only have one dress but love it. I want more

Which style you never want to try out/wear again?
I'm not sure yet.

BRANDS

Brands yes or no and why?
No, I can't afford them. I also work real hard for my money and want to stretch it. There are some good off brands out there and I think the idea of "having" to only buy brands is silly. Don't get me wrong there are brand name dress I really want and someday I hope to get some but not my whole closet.

Which brand is your favorite?
Victorian Maiden, Putumayo, and h. Naoto

Which is your least favorite brand?
Alter boyz

Look above

OTHER
Did you ever got surprised by a piece of Lolita?
When i first started getting in to Lolita I was so excited about blouses with sleeves the can come off. How versatile!

Did you ever got disappointed by a piece of Lolita?
A lot the the pieces I love aren't great for winter and I hate being cold.

Things that you like about Lolita?
Oh my, many things. I love the variety and uniqueness. I love that there isn't just one type of Lolita. And I love the way it makes me all giddy inside. I've never been that big into fashion till I found Lolita. I feel like a happy child again.

Things that you dislike on Lolita?
I don't like that the community seems to set standards. We should all do what we like. The community is so small everyone should be accepted for who they are

Do you have a Lolita fashion idol, if 'yes' who is it?
I'll be honest I don't know many Lolita icons. Like I said I'm still a baby in this fashion(2 years), so I'm not completely educated, but I do admit I look up to Victoria from the blog Lolita Charm http://lolita-charm.blogspot.com/.

Does Lolita affect your every day life?
Yes and no. I don't wear Lolita all the time, I like other fashions as well(visual kei is my other obsession). I do notice that I do think about it a lot and try ti incorporate it into my work clothing

Do you buy Lolita related things, like cute looking furniture?
Yea, I got some boxes and clocks that make me think Lolita.

Do you read/buy the Gothic Lolita Bible?
Yes. I have every English copy and I am starting to collect the Japanese ones.

How to you describe your fashion style to others that don´t know about Lolita?
It's a fashion that captures everything about youth and being a girl. It routed in fantasy and believes in happily ever after

Is there something you want to say to your fellow Lolitas?
Don't ever keep it in the box. Try new things cause you might love it. And even though you love Lolita you don't have to define Lolita. It's what you make of it!
