CT Con 2011

Time for some midnight blogging! So I tired to do a post a couple days ago about my trip to CT Con but Blogger was just driving me insane. I'm trying again and just keeping it short.
I had a great time again this year. I did mostly the big events like Death Match, FMVs and the Masquerade. I know a lot of con goers think these things a cheesy and stupid but hell what are cons for? I was good and kept my money spending to a minimal, well kinda. Got some more great fanart and more manga. On Friday my friend Michelle, who I met on Deviantart, took some awesome pics for my friends and I. It was a lot of fun, I wish I could do more photo shoots. Maybe she will do some more for me in the future. I just had a good time all around being with so many of my awesome friends and getting to hangout with people I don't get to see often. Now on with the outfits!

These are some of the great friends I got to spend the weekend with. We all had some fuzziness by Sunday.

Can't wait for next year and another amazing CT Con. Next con we are planing on going to is Comic Con in NYC. Maybe by then I'll have my Alice: Madness returns cosplay done?

Outfit Post - 6/24/11

Hello All,
 So time to be a little honest here. I haven't been posting because I've kinda been depressed. I wont go into self pity whining or such but I'll just say I've been down about life and where it's going. I am trying very hard to pull myself out of this rut but it can be difficult. I do have something to look forward too though, CT CON. I love cons so much so I'm hoping that going will put a little spark of creativity back in my life.
I did want to share an outfit from last weekend:

I kinda wanted to mix my old tomboy gothic style with my newer feminine lolita style. I wore my fanplusfriend bloomer/pants, F21 long kint tank, and added a bunch of accessories. I found a pair of fingerless gloves(just so you know I use to wear these everyday in high school, this was long before they sold them) put on a Sora Kingdom Hearts necklace, took my Disney :Think Happy Thoughts ribbon and wore it as a choker with a cupcake pin.
It was a great summer day and I drove to my parents to have Japanese food. Windows down with Kerli blaring helped clear my head a little.

Outfit Post -4/12/11

I haven't done any outfit post in such a long time. The main reason is due to time. I haven't really had the chance to dress up at all, lately....this makes me very sad. And when I do I don't get a moment to snap a few pictures. Well on Tuesday I made some time when we went down to the park.

I add a nice petticoat from another outfit b/c it's just a little too short, it gives it a good leangth and looks like it belongs. Also I added a belt to give it more of a waist. I don't think I look good if there isn't some shape in my outfits.

Music Spotlight- One Eyed Doll

Time to introduce you to another artist I really enjoy...drum roll.....Kimberly Freeman and the One Eyed Doll!!!! Sadly I can't say that I am the one who discovered this gothic jewel, my awesome boyfriend did.  He played me Brief Candle (on my Princess Playlisit) and I was hooked.

Their music is a lovely mix of youth, death, cuteness, and the macab. I guess I wouldn't suggest this to someone who can't see the beauty in dark moments. Sadly some of my favorite songs don't have  music videos but here are two I'd like to share.

I hope that you enjoyed! One of the cool things is that you can download any of their music right from their official site. Because it's coming right from them you can donate any amount you wish for a whole album, please be nice and give them more then a dollar, this is their job. I suggest the albums Monster and Break!

Music Stoplight- Apocalyptica

Sorry for not posting on Monday again but this post needed to to wait because on Tuesday night I went to see Apocalyptica. They are one of my favorite bands, and still the best concert I've been too. I have seen them once before about two years ago, I was so blown away by their energy and performance.

They started by doing metal covers, like Metalica and Pantara, on just their three/four cellos. Now that they have become bigger they have been able to create their original music that is not only hard core but also lovely at the same time. If you are looking for something that is all about the music, not necessarily the lyrics, Apocalyptica is the way to go, and see them in concert they will blow your mind.

Sorta Monday Music Spotlight-Howl

So I was planing on every Monday posting something with music. Either a song that really hits me, or an artist I love. Having this done by Monday did not happen but better late then never. On with the music!

Florence + the Machine is my new love! Her voice is so hauntingly beautiful. One of my favorite songs is Howl. The song really describes it's self. Here Florence performing the song and the lyrics with pictures I feel fit the song.

So the other day I was staring at my closet and started to think about what would I wear if I was going to "insert event here." So I have decided to do posts about some of the music artist I would love to see and the outfit I would wear to their concerts.
