Outfit Post -4/12/11

I haven't done any outfit post in such a long time. The main reason is due to time. I haven't really had the chance to dress up at all, lately....this makes me very sad. And when I do I don't get a moment to snap a few pictures. Well on Tuesday I made some time when we went down to the park.

I had some fun on the swing!
Dress is Putumayo ( I love my KittyDragon dress)
I add a nice petticoat from another outfit b/c it's just a little too short, it gives it a good leangth and looks like it belongs. Also I added a belt to give it more of a waist. I don't think I look good if there isn't some shape in my outfits.
Boots are a great $8 find from Goodwill last year
Tights Hot Topic clearance rack

Here is an outfit from a couple weeks ago.
Skirt is Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Cardigan is from Charlotte Russe
Can't really see them but boots from Bodyline
(see my Kingdom Hearts Wall Scroll?)

I hope everyone has a lovely day. I hope to have some new outfit shots from when I go to Anime Boston. I'll be there all weekend!!!

Music Spotlight- One Eyed Doll

Time to introduce you to another artist I really enjoy...drum roll.....Kimberly Freeman and the One Eyed Doll!!!! Sadly I can't say that I am the one who discovered this gothic jewel, my awesome boyfriend did.  He played me Brief Candle (on my Princess Playlisit) and I was hooked.
Their music is a lovely mix of youth, death, cuteness, and the macab. I guess I wouldn't suggest this to someone who can't see the beauty in dark moments. Sadly some of my favorite songs don't have  music videos but here are two I'd like to share.

This song is great!

I hope that you enjoyed! One of the cool things is that you can download any of their music right from their official site. Because it's coming right from them you can donate any amount you wish for a whole album, please be nice and give them more then a dollar, this is their job. I suggest the albums Monster and Break!

Music Spotlight-Inspiration from one Lady

Two of my favorite songs are both about the Lady of Shalott. Lady of Shalott is a Victorian ballad written by  Alfred Lord Tenneyson. It's a Arthurin tale of a women who was lost in day dreams who watches the world of Camelot from her mirror. It really a tragic tale of how she breaks her own heart in but it is still so very lovely.

This is Loreena McKennitt version of the poem, some of the verses are left out so you can read the whole ballad here. Her voice is so lovely it just makes the words come alive in my head, and I just want to dance around whenever I listen to it.
Next song also comes from the Lady of Shalott but is very different. Emille Autumn is one of my favorite musicians, her voice is so very haunting, and she sings about very unique topics.

Her song had a darker feel then Loreena's but I still find is so lovely.
Now I will leave you with some lovely images created about our lovely Lady.

Music Stoplight- Apocalyptica

Sorry for not posting on Monday again but this post needed to to wait because on Tuesday night I went to see Apocalyptica. They are one of my favorite bands, and still the best concert I've been too. I have seen them once before about two years ago, I was so blown away by their energy and performance.

They started by doing metal covers, like Metalica and Pantara, on just their three/four cellos. Now that they have become bigger they have been able to create their original music that is not only hard core but also lovely at the same time. If you are looking for something that is all about the music, not necessarily the lyrics, Apocalyptica is the way to go, and see them in concert they will blow your mind.

Ok and this is what I wore to the concert, where I danced my head off...my neck still hurts.

Impatient for Spirng?

I sure am! I can't wait till it is warm again, I am sick of cold and wet. Because I am so impatient I have started doing a few things to get me ready for spring!
  • The other day I hit the mall and got some warmer scents for my self. Bath and Body has this scent Carried Away. It's different from my normal "darker", musky scents I use. It's a light mix of sweet flowery smells.

  • I also went to Yankee Candle and got some new candles. I suggest the new Pink Sands and Spring Days. When the burn they make me think of warm mornings sipping tea on my parents porch.
  •  To add to my shopping spree I am going to start looking for new sheets. Spring makes me think of lazy mornings is soft cotton sheets. Winter I bundle up in warm flannel sheets but I can't wait to get into thinner bedding.

  •  Pull out those sun dresses and iron them. The must be all wrinkled stuffed in the back of your closest all winter. Bring them out, even wash them so the are all fresh for when that first warm day surprises you.
  • Get a pedicure. If your feet are anything like mine, they don't look so pretty after being stuck in socks and shoes all winter. Now you'll be ready for that first day you want to wear sandals. Last year
I remember looking at my feet and thinking "yuck", not this year!

  • Now you can paint those pretty toes and nails. Stay away from dark colors like red and black(even though I like them) and use a yellow or blue. Use a bright color so that it will give you a little reminder that warmer, sunny days are on their way.

I am still planing on getting this from Sephora but maybe in Minty
The only thing left for me to do is be patient........NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
