My Disney Role Model

In Lolita Charm's last post http://lolita-charm.blogspot.com/, Victoria was reponding to an article that stated being a princess is something you grow out of and that the image of a princess presented by Disney are just shells of being a young girl. Oh how not true this is. As I was growing up I had a strong kindred spirt with Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I loved her curiosity and freedom, not to metion her beatiful voice and long red hair(sometimes I dye my hair red to idolize her). I would always pretend to be her while playing in the pool or out in my forest. As a teenager I understood her need for independance. We all want the chance to explore and find out who we are. She uses another "world" as a way to discover something within herself. Now, as the princess I have become, I still look up to Ariel. I love to discover new things. Lolita is a huge part of my exploration. Through Lolita I found a way to capture my youth and become more of a girl then I ever was(I was an extreme tomboy).I always love to learn about diffrent things and explore new places. I'm constantly telling myself that I am free to be me, who ever that is today. Ariel was not afraid to put herself out there. Heck she grew legs and learned to dance! I will always fight for what I believe in. I will go and fight for the one I love no matter what sea witch wants to stop me. I am proud that I had a Disney Princess for a role model.
